Beat Desk Job Blues
Long hours at a desk can contribute to neck and back discomfort, tight shoulders, headaches and reduced mobility. Over time, these issues can affect your comfort, concentration and energy throughout the working day.
At Phoenix Therapy Galway, we use hands-on treatments such as deep tissue massage, dry needling, cupping and physiotherapy to address muscular tension and restricted movement. Each treatment is tailored to your individual needs, helping you move more comfortably and manage the physical demands of desk-based work.

Will my Insurance company pay for my Physio or massage?
At Phoenix Therapy Galway, we understand the importance of making physiotherapy accessible through your insurance. Most Irish health insurance plans offer benefits for physiotherapy with a CORU- physiotherapist. We provide detailed receipts containing all necessary CORU registration details, making it easy for you to submit your claim to providers like VHI Healthcare, Laya Healthcare, and more. While massage therapy is sometimes covered, we encourage you to verify your coverage for all treatments with your insurer. To claim, simply book your appointment, attend your session, and receive a detailed receipt to submit directly to your insurer. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out!

Meet our Team @ Phoenix therapy Galway

Robert Coleby
I’m Bob Coleby, founder of Phoenix Therapy Galway. I believe effective treatment should involve more than simply handing clients a list of exercises. Using hands-on approaches such as dry needling, cupping and sports massage, I work directly with areas of pain, tension and restricted movement. Every treatment is tailored to the individual, with the aim of helping clients move more comfortably, recover well and get back to doing what they enjoy.

A Bit About Phoenix therapy
Bob Coleby is the founder of Phoenix Therapy Galway. Originally from the south of England, Bob spent many years working as a boat builder before moving to Ireland after first visiting in 2007. His background in skilled, practical work gave him a strong appreciation for how the body moves and the physical strain that work, sport and everyday life can place on it. In 2016, Bob decided to pursue a new career focused on helping people manage pain, muscular tension and restricted movement. He trained in massage therapy and went on to establish Phoenix Therapy Galway, building a clinic centred on practical, personalised and hands-on care. Bob believes effective treatment should involve more than simply giving clients a list of exercises to complete at home. His approach uses hands-on techniques to work directly with areas of pain, tightness and reduced mobility. Depending on the client’s needs, treatment may include sports massage, deep tissue techniques, dry needling or cupping. Whether someone is dealing with muscular discomfort, recovering from sport or struggling with the physical demands of work and daily life, Bob takes time to understand what is happening and tailors each treatment accordingly. His aim is to help clients move more comfortably, recover well and return to the activities they enjoy. Today, Bob works alongside a small team of skilled therapists at Phoenix Therapy Galway. Together, they provide professional care in a welcoming environment that combines the comfort of a therapy space with a focused, results-led approach to treatment. For Bob, Phoenix Therapy is about making people feel heard, understood and properly cared for. Each treatment begins with the individual and what they need on that particular day.

Struggling with back pain or restricted movement
Lower back pain, neck tension, shoulder discomfort and muscular strains can have many different causes, which is why the right treatment will not be the same for everyone.
At Phoenix Therapy Galway, we take time to understand your symptoms, movement and individual needs before recommending a suitable approach. Treatment may include hands-on physiotherapy, sports massage, dry needling, cupping or deep tissue techniques.
Our focus is on working directly with areas of pain, tension and restricted movement. Rather than simply sending you away with a list of exercises, we provide personalised, hands-on treatment to help you move more comfortably, support your recovery and return to the activities you enjoy.
If you are looking for physiotherapy, dry needling, cupping or sports massage in Galway, our experienced team will provide professional treatment in a welcoming and comfortable environment.
Move more comfortably. Recover with confidence. Feel like yourself again.

"Hands-on treatment that helps you move better, feel better and get back to doing what you love."
